Setting
Crosswind is set in a pseudo-realistic time and place comparable to that of Eastern Europe in the 1940's. The areas you, as members, will roleplay in, are fictional locations based on regions east of Germany; there is no true correlation between them and real geography. The center of everything is the port of Kungur, a decently sized but old-fashioned fishing town on the banks of the Sylva River. Kungur is surrounded by little more than wilderness of varying sorts, from mountains and thick forest to fertile riverbanks and open plain.
The best way to inform yourselves about our small world is to read the board descriptions on the forum index. The map on the left includes some of these locations. Crosswind's setting is isolated and well out of the way of bustling civilization, for the lykos of course would choose to thrive in a place where humans are somewhat scarce.
You are urged to be as realistic in your character design and storylines as possible. However, keep in mind that while we are using the 1940's as a foundation and for something with which to parallel, Crosswind is not actually set in Europe. Disregard historical timelines and events entirely, especially wars or references to politics of that time period. The idea is for things to remain extremely vague, yet retain enough post-war realism to be credible.
In conclusion, this is all rather hard to explain - we hope to be able to clarify things more completely in the future.
